Product Design / Kroger Pickup
As a Senior Product Designer at Kroger, I have worked in the Curbside Pickup space for over 3 years. I’ve gained a strong understanding of associate workflows and processes through continuous discovery, contextual inquiry, and usability sessions. I’ve also built a strong relationship with our business partners as we collaborate on finding solutions that achieve business goals while improving the associate experience.
Some of the key projects I’ve worked on in this role:
Redesigned our entire associate-facing Pickup application (Harvester) from a progressive web application to a native Android application, including an overhaul of the substitutions process. This redesign captured an annual labor savings amount of over $2 million due to its streamlined workflows, and it contributed to rising customer substitution acceptance rates.
Designed new user-facing workflows to enable permanent container labels in Pickup, eliminating the need for printing single-use paper labels.
Created a proof of concept that combined 5 separate tools used by Pickup associates into 1 cohesive application.
Due to the proprietary and internal nature of this application I am unable to publicly share design details, but I am happy to further discuss my process. Contact me at deitschkatie@gmail.com to chat!
